MOST OF THE DAY LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and NW, IN THE SOUTHERN PART DURING THE FORENOON STILL OF SW, AND FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BRIEFLY ALL ALONG THE ADRIATIC OF S and SW WINDS, 35-40 KNOTS. THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY IN THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, AND FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front is shifting further eastwards, while a new one is expected to approach from the west during the night and to shift across the Adriatic tomorrow.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW and NE, in the South Adriatic during the forenoon still SW winds, 12-24, easing gradually in the North, toward the end of the day in the rest of the Adriatic, to 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, in the North, toward the end of the day elsewhere as well, calming briefly to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Clearing is expected, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

S and SW winds rapidly strengthening to moderate to strong and turning before the morning in the extreme north of the Adriatic to NW. Sea slight, in the second part of the night locally again up to moderate. Gradual cloud increase, bringing rain, showers and thunder from the middle of the night, firstly in the North Adriatic.
