LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northeast, while a weakened frontal disturbance is approaching the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, in places up to 24, in the North Adriatic 28, and in the Velebit Channel up to 34 knots, gradually easing a little. In the open sea of the Central Adriatic NW winds 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. In the greater part of the Adriatic mostly clear or fair, along the coast of the northern part with some more cloud and with a risk of light scattered rain.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate, in places up to strong NE, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic turning to E and SE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open sea and in the Velebit Channel still up to moderate. Cloud increase is expected and a risk of scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.
