LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE OPEN SEA DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north of Europe toward the Adriatic, while a shallow field of low pressure has moved southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in places of the North Adriatic up to 28, and in the Velebit Channel up to 34 knots, easing along the coast of the southern part of the Adriatic around midday and turning in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic to NW winds 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of brief isolated rain showers with thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

NE winds gradually easing during the night to moderate and fresh, in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme south of the Adriatic to strong. In the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic moderate NE, and along the coast of the South Adriatic from the second part of the night SE and E winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open and in the Velebit Channel possibly up to moderate. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the open sea.
