LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE OPEN SEA.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow field of low pressure over the Tyrrhenian Sea is slowly filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northeast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds strengthening to 12-22, in the North Adriatic up to 26, and in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots. Toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic during the forenoon still SE and E winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain along the coast of the North Adriatic, and of isolated rain showers with thunder in the South and in the open of the Central Adriatic.

Moderate to strong NE winds, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force. Sea smooth or slight, in the open and in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Variably cloudy in places, in the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic still with a little risk of rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.
