WARNING

IN THE NORTH, GRADUALLY TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY IN THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL FROM THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY UP TO 55 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT, MAINLY IN THE OPEN SEA.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow field of low pressure over the South Adriatic is filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northeast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and along the coast of the Central Adriatic NE winds 8-18, in the Velebit Channel up to 22 knots. Along the coast of the South Adriatic SE and E, in the open of the South, at first of the Central Adriatic as well, NW winds 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3, in the extreme south of the Adriatic at first still 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Fine or fair.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. In the South Adriatic SE and E winds easing and turning during the night to light to moderate NE and E winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the North and Central Adriatic possibly up to moderate. Variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain in places along the coast of the North Adriatic and of isolated rain showers with thunder in the South and in the open of the Central Adriatic during the night.
