SYNOPSIS

A shallow field of low pressure over the Adriatic is gradually filling up and shifting eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW, in places along the coast NE winds, 12-22, in places up to 26, and in the open sea, at first in the Velebit Channel as well, up to 32, easing to 6-16 knots in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day and in the evening. Sea 3-4, in the open of the Central Adriatic possibly up to 5, calming in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the evening to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, but partial clearing is expected toward the end of the day and during the night, firstly in the North, then in the Central Adriatic as well.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the South and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force NW and NE winds, gradually easing toward midday. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate NW winds dying away and giving way in the morning to light to moderate SW. Sea smooth or slight, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate. Gradual clearing is expected in the South Adriatic as well, but still with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder at first.
