A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 8-18, in places up to 22 knots, mainly in the South Adriatic. Around midday in the South and Central Adriatic winds easing a little, but strengthening again toward the end of the day to 12-24, while in the North Adriatic, south of Istria, strengthening around midday to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open, toward the end of the day in the Velebit Channel as well, 3-4. Visibility 20 km. Cloudy during the forenoon, but becoming mostly clear later on. In the open sea still variably cloudy with a little risk of light scattered rain or brief isolated rain showers with thunder.

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open and in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Along the coast mostly clear, but in the open sea still variably cloudy with a little risk of light scattered rain or brief isolated rain showers with thunder.
