IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and NW WINDS 35-55 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AT FIRST STILL GUSTS OF SW WIND 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is slowly shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE, in the Central NW winds 12-26, and in the South Adriatic SW winds 18-34 knots, easing toward midday to 4-12, in the North and South Adriatic to 16, and in the Velebit Channel to 20 knots. In the North Adriatic late in the day NE winds 12-26 knots. Sea 3-4, in the extreme south of the Adriatic at first 4-5, calming to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Gradual clearing, but still with rain, showers and thunder at first. A new cloud increase is expected late in the day.

Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder in places, mainly in the South and Central Adriatic. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds strengthening to strong and near gale force. Elsewhere light to fresh NW, and along the coast light to moderate NE, in the southern part of the Adriatic SE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate.
