IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL BRIEFLY IN THE MORNING LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF S and SW WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is slowly shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards, while a new one is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

THE NORTH ADRIATIC: Mainly SW and NW, in the Gulf of Trieste NE winds, 6-16, in the Velebit Channel NE briefly up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with rain and showers in places. THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC: SE winds 10-20, in the South, at first in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, up to 26, turning in the Central, in the evening in the South Adriatic as well, to NW and easing later on to 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, calming to 2-3, most lately in the extreme south. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with rain and showers in places.

In the Central and South Adriatic mainly moderate NW and in the North Adriatic moderate to fresh S and SW winds, till the morning up to strong in places. Sea slight, then in the North Adriatic up to moderate. Variably and mainly cloudy with rain and showers in places.
