LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC UP TO 50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING STILL UP TO 60 KNOTS, EASING IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF GUSTS OF NW WINDS UP TO 35 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending from the northwest toward the Adriatic, while a low over the Ionian Sea is slowly filling up and shifting southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 28, in the Velebit Channel this morning still up to 34 knots. In the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds 12-22 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open, today in the Velebit Channel as well, 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, in places fine or fair, and in the South Adriatic cloudy with a risk of scattered rain, mainly in the open sea.

Mostly clear with some cloud in places, in the South Adriatic with some more cloud and a risk of scattered rain, mainly in the open sea. Moderate to fresh, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to strong NE winds, easing in the second part of the night to light to moderate and turning in the open sea to NW. In the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to fresh, only in places up to strong, NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open up to moderate.
