SEA LOCALLY IN THE OPEN DURING THE DAY STILL UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE OPEN OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure has intensified toward the Adriatic, while a low, south of Sicily, is slowly shifting northeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and E, in the open of the South Adriatic today still SE winds, 14-28, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 38, easing gradually to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel to 28 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 4-5, gradually calming to 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, particularly in the open of the Central and South Adriatic. Partial clearing is expected during the night, firstly along the coast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Partial clearing. In the North and in the extreme south of the Adriatic during the forenoon some more clouds and a risk of rain in the wider area of Rijeka. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE, turning in the open of the Central and of a part of the South Adriatic during the forenoon to moderate to fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open and in the Velebit Channel still up to moderate.
