IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-80, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 95, IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC GUSTS OF SE, DURING THE NIGHT OF NE WINDS, 35-50 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY 5-6. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the North Adriatic will be filling up slowly and shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 20-40, in the Velebit Channel up to 50, in the rest of the Adriatic SE and SW winds 16-30, in the south of the Adriatic up to 34 knots. During the night SE winds will ease a little and turn in the Central Adriatic to NE 12-26 knots. Sea increasing to 4-5, toward the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic possibly up to 6. Visibility 10-20 km. Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, in the Velebit Channel with a risk of wind drifted snow.

Moderate to strong, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to storm force, NE winds. In the South Adriatic SE and SW winds, gradually turning toward midday to moderate to strong NE. Sea moderate and rough, toward the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic possibly up to very rough. Variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, in the Velebit Channel with a risk of wind drifted snow.
