SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic and a ridge of high pressure from the northwest will intensify briefly later on.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 22, and in the open, south of Istria, SE winds 10-20 knots. In the Central and South Adriatic SE, along the coast E winds, 6-16 knots. Winds will gradually ease from midday. Sea 2-3, calming in the afternoon to 1-2. Visibility 10-20 km. This morning still variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in a part of the North and Central Adriatic, then gradual clearing is expected.

Mostly clear, still with some cloud in places, more in the wider area of Rijeka, where rain is possible again. Calm or variable winds, in the North Adriatic from the middle of the night light SE. Sea calm or smooth.
