LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS, EASING DURING THE FORENOON, EXCEPT IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels over the southern part.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the Central and South Adriatic NE winds 8-18, in places up to 22, easing in the morning and turning to SW and NW, in the evening again to NE 4-14 knots. In the North Adriatic NE winds 10-20, in places up to 24, easing briefly in places around midday and turning along the west Istrian coast to NW 4-12 knots. Sea 2-3, locally in the North Adriatic up to 4. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder. No significant change in air temperatures.

Light to moderate, in the North Adriatic fresh and strong NE winds. Sea smooth or slight. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.
