SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic from the northeast, while moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 5-15, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and in the northern part of the Central Adriatic up to 20, in the North Adriatic up to 25, and in the Velebit Channel up to 30 knots. In the open sea NW winds 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Elsewhere mostly clear.

In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy, only in places with rain, showers and thunder. Elsewhere mostly clear. Light to moderate, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and in the northern part of the Central up to fresh, in the North Adriatic up to strong, and in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, locally in the North Adriatic up to moderate.
