SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northeast, while moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in places up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots. In the rest of the Adriatic mainly E and SE winds 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the North Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.

Light to moderate NE and NW, in the North Adriatic up to fresh, and in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder. Partial clearing is expected along the coast.
