IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL, FROM THE END OF THE DAY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50 IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, FIRSTLY IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL, IN THE EVENING AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AS WELL.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is shifting across the Adriatic, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in places up to 28, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots. In the South, at first in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, SE winds 6-14, in places up to 18 knots, easing later on. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, but gradual clearing is expected in the North Adriatic in the afternoon and in the Central later on. In the South Adriatic fine or fair.

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force NE winds, gradually spreading to the rest of the Adriatic. Sea slight and moderate. Mostly clear, only in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
