THUNDERSTORMS IN PLACES, PARTICULARLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC. GUSTS OF NE AND N WINDS 35-45 KNOTS IN PLACES.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with a frontal system is shifting over the Adriatic and a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and N winds 8-18, in places up to 24 knots, already from the midday in the extreme north and westwards of Istria ceasing completely. Still initially in the South Adriatic wind from variable directions up to 12 knots. Sea 2-3, in the afternoon westwards of Istria calming while in the open of the Central and South Adriatic intensifying to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km, in places reduced to about 5 km. Variably cloudy and a little cooler with scattered rain and showers with thunder, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Gradual clearing up is expected first in northern part.

Moderate to strong NE and N winds. Sea smooth to slight, in the open also moderate. Mostly clear except in the South Adriatic where there is still a risk of significant showers and thunder.
