LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS, EASING IN THE MORNING, EXCEPT IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC. A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE COAST OF THE SOUTH ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the European land lies over the Adriatic, while some unstable air is still circulating in high levels, more to the south.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-18, only in places up to 22, easing in the morning to 6-16 knots, except in the extreme south of the Adriatic, and turning to NW. Sea 2-3, toward the open of extreme south of the Adriatic possibly up to 4. Visibility above 20 km. Fine or fair. Along the coast of the South Adriatic in the afternoon variably cloudy with a little risk of scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.

Light to moderate NE and NW winds, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic NE up to fresh in places. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the extreme south of the Adriatic up to moderate. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy at first.
