A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS, MAINLY IN THE MORNING AND DURING THE NIGHT. A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH, IN THE AFTERNOON ALONG THE COAST OF THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 25 knots at times, turning briefly around midday to NW 10-20, west and north of Istria 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, locally 3-4, mainly in the open. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear with moderate increase of daily cloudiness along the coast in the afternoon and with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. In the South Adriatic most of the day variably cloudy with a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the southern part, in the afternoon elsewhere along the coast as well.

Mostly clear, but in places along the coast at first still variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. Moderate to fresh NW winds turning to NE, in the Velebit Channel up to strong at times. Sea smooth or slight, possibly up to moderate, mainly toward the open.
