LIGHT THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL, A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with frontal disturbance is shifting partly across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will briefly intensify from north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds strengthening to 8-18, in places up to 24 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds 6-16, toward the open possibly up to 20, turning along the coast toward the end of the day and during the night, and in the open sea later on, to NE 6-16, in places up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, locally in the North Adriatic possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with a little rain in places or isolated rain showers with thunder. In the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic late in the day and during the night partial clearing.

Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy with a little rain in places or isolated rain showers with thunder during the night, mainly toward the open sea. Light to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to strong, NE winds, dying away in the morning. In the open of the South Adriatic at first still light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North Adriatic possibly up to moderate during the night, but calming gradually in the morning.
