IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING STILL A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 30-40 KNOTS. A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AROUND MIDDAY AND IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal disturbance is approaching the Adriatic from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 4-10, in the Central up to 14, and in the South Adriatic up to 20 knots, dying away and giving way later on to SE, increasing to 5-15, in the North Adriatic up to 20 knots. In the Velebit Channel, in the area around Senj, still NE winds 10-20 knots this morning. Sea 2-3, in the extreme south of the Adriatic still possibly up to 4 at first. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic gradual cloud increase. Variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder possibly along the coast of the South Adriatic around midday.

In the North Adriatic mainly cloudy with scattered rain and with a little risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Elsewhere fine or fair. In the North Adriatic light to fresh SW and W winds. Elsewhere light to moderate SE turning to light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight.
