SYNOPSIS

A weakened frontal system will be shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards and a ridge of high pressure will intensify later on.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds strengthening to 14-30, in the Central and South Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel up to 40 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, in the open locally up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. In the South and Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the open sea and in the extreme south. In the North Adriatic, later on in the Central Adriatic as well, mostly clear.

Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic at first still variably cloudy. Strong and gale force NE winds, easing, especially in the North Adriatic. Sea slight and moderate, in the open up to rough.
