IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF SE, DURING THE NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING OF NE WINDS, 35-55 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY 4-5, MAINLY IN THE OPEN. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the Adriatic is slowly filling up and shifting southeastwards, further toward the Ionian Sea, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify slowly from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 14-28, in places up to 34, and in the Velebit Channel toward the end of the day up to 46 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE winds 12-28, turning during the night to NE 12-24 knots, most lately in the extreme south. Sea 3-4, locally 4-5, mainly in the open. Visibility 10-20 km. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Partial clearing in the North Adriatic during the night.

Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Clearing in the North, in the morning in a part of the Central Adriatic as well. Strong and near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force, NE winds, easing west and north of Istria in the morning to fresh. Sea slight and moderate, locally up to rough, mainly in the open.
