LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA TOWARD THE OPEN IN THE AFTERNOON UP TO 5, EASING AND CALMING IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A field of raised air pressure over the Adriatic is weakening, while a deep trough with frontal system is approaching from the western Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 10-20, in places up to 25, strengthening during the day to 15-25, in places of the North and Central Adriatic up to 35 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing to 3-4, locally in the evening possibly up to 5. Visibility above 20, then 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the North, in the afternoon in the rest of the Adriatic as well, gradual heavier cloud increase with rain in places later on.

Moderate to near gale force SE winds gradually easing during the night and turning in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic to moderate SW. Sea slight and moderate, locally in the North and Central Adriatic up to rough. Overcast with scattered rain, in the North Adriatic with a risk of thunder.
