SYNOPSIS

A shallow low south of Sicily will be shifting gradually eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening slowly.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 4-14, in the Velebit Channel at first still up to 20, dying away this morning, then calm or variable winds 4-10 knots. In the open sea of the South and a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 6-16, in the extreme south still up to 20 knots today. Sea 2-3, calming to 1-2, but in the open of the South Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel at first still 3-4, gradually calming in the afternoon to 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 4 km due to mist. Variably cloudy, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still with light scattered rain, mainly toward the open during the forenoon and in places along the coast during the night. In the North Adriatic mostly clear most of the day.
