TOWARD THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON LOCAL GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-40 KNOTS AND LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EXTREME SOUTH.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow low centred over the Strait of Otranto is slowly shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 8-16, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 24 knots, easing till the end of the day. Sea 2-3, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon 3-4. Visibility 20-30 km. Mostly clear, in the extreme south of the Adriatic still variably cloudy with scattered rain or brief isolated thundery rain showers.

Mostly clear with some variable cloud. Along the coast light to moderate NE, toward the open sea light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to slight. Air temperatures a little lower.
