IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, TOWARD THE OPEN SEA OF NW WINDS, 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow low with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Central Adriatic further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 32, easing west and north of Istria toward the end of the day to 4-14 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and SW winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist. Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder. Precipitation dying out and cloud breaking up in the North Adriatic during the forenoon and in a part of the Central toward the end of the day.

In the North, then in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere still mainly cloudy with rain or showers with thunder. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong NE, toward the open NW winds, easing west and north of Istria to light, from the middle of the night elsewhere as well to moderate and fresh. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate, in places up to fresh SE and SW winds, turning to moderate to strong NE, toward the open sea to NW. Sea slight and moderate, calming west and north of Istria to smooth.
