IN THE NORTH, TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. STILL A RISK OF FOG AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots. In the South and Central Adriatic NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 6-16 knots. In northern Dalmatia NE winds strengthening toward the end of the day to 10-20 knots. Sea in the North Adriatic increasing to 3-4, elsewhere to 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 4 km due to mist, or even to less than 1 km due to fog at first. Variably cloudy, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic with light scattered rain, mainly in the open sea, around midday possibly along the coast as well.

Mostly clear, but in the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic, at first even along the coast, variably cloudy with a little rain in places. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic, from the middle of the night elsewhere as well, moderate to fresh, in places up to strong, and in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North Adriatic up to moderate.
