IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY 4-5 DURING THE NIGHT, MAINLY IN THE OPEN.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending from the north toward the Adriatic, while a low over the western Mediterranean will be shifting slowly toward the Tyrrhenian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 36 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds strengthening to 10-20, in the open sea toward the end of the day and during the night up to 28 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic, locally during the night possibly to 4-5, mainly in the open. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, mainly in the open sea.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, easing a little in the second part of the night. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to fresh, toward the open up to strong SE and E winds. Sea slight and moderate, possibly up to rough, mainly in the open.
