LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL TODAY STILL UP TO 60 KNOTS. SEA IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC POSSIBLY UP TO 5 AT FIRST. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC.

A low over the Tyrrhenian Sea will be shifting toward the Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 36, gradually easing during the night to 4-14, south of Istria to 10-20, and in the Velebit Channel to 28 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 10-20, gradually easing along the coast during the night to 6-16 knots. In the extreme south of the Adriatic at first still SE winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the North Adriatic up to 4, in the North Adriatic at first possibly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy. Scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder in the South, at first in a part of the Central Adriatic as well. Partial clearing is expected in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day and during the night.

Mostly clear with some cloud in places. In the South Adriatic at first still variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Light to moderate, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic during the night up to fresh NE, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate NW winds. In the Velebit Channel moderate to strong NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the Velebit Channel and locally in the open during the night possibly up to moderate.
