LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AT FIRST OF SE WINDS, 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC AT FIRST. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC.

A low over the Tyrrhenian Sea will be shifting toward the Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-22, in the North Adriatic up to 26, and in the Velebit Channel up to 36, easing to 8-18, in the North Adriatic to 22, and in the Velebit Channel to 30 knots. In the south of the Adriatic at first still SE winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the North Adriatic up to 4, in the North Adriatic possibly up to 5 at first. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder in places of the South, during the forenoon and around midday in the Central Adriatic as well.

In the South Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Clearing is expected in the rest of the Adriatic. Light to fresh, in the North Adriatic up to strong, and in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, turning in the open sea to NW. Sea smooth or slight, in the North Adriatic and in the open sea up to moderate.
