IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE MORNING, IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL TOWARD MIDDAY, GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is briefly weakening a little, but it will intensify again from the northwest tomorrow, while a low over the western Mediterranean is gradually shifting toward the Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 4-12, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and north of Istria up to 16, in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots, easing briefly a little, but strengthening again in the evening. Toward the open of the South and Central Adriatic SE and E winds 10-20 knots, easing slowly. Sea 2-3, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility 10-20, but in places possibily reduded to around 5 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain in the open sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE winds, strengthening in the morning, firstly in the northern part, to moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force, and spreading till midday to a part of the Central Adriatic. In the open of the South and Central Adriatic during the night still moderate SE and E winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain in the open sea.
