IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS, EASING BRIEFLY AROUND MIDDAY.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure will slowly weaken, and a low over the western Mediterranean will gradually shift toward the Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 4-14, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and north of Istria up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots, easing briefly a little around midday and strengthening again during the night. Toward the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic SE and E winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility 10-20, but in places with mist possibly reduced to around 5 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain in the open sea.

Light to moderate NE winds, in the extreme south and north of the Adriatic up to fresh, and in the Velebit Channel up to strong. Fresh SE and E winds in the open of the South and Central Adriatic slowly easing. Variably cloudy with scattered rain in the open sea.
