SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending toward the Adriatic from the northeast, while a low lies over the central Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 4-14, in the extreme south and north of Istria up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots. In the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic E winds strengthening to 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20. Mostly clear. In the open sea variably cloudy with a chance of light rain.

Light to moderate NE winds, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and northwards from Istria up to fresh, and in the Velebit Channel up to strong, easing. In the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic light to fresh SE and E winds. Sea smooth to slight. Mostly clear, but in the open sea still variably cloudy with a chance of light scattered rain.
