SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5, BUT IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC STILL UP TO 6 TODAY. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

A low over southern Italy is slowly filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic E and SE winds, 16-32, in the North Adriatic up to 38, and in the Velebit Channel up to 50 knots. Winds slowly easing toward the end of the day and during the night to 14-28, in the Velebit Channel to 40 knots. Sea 4-5, in the open of the North Adriatic 5-6. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or snow, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic with isolated rain showers and thunder.

Winds further easing to fresh and strong, only in the Velebit Channel NE winds still up to gale force. Sea moderate and rough, gradually calming. Gradual clearing along the coast, but in the open sea still variably cloudy, in the South and Central Adriatic with light scattered rain or snow, possibly with isolated rain showers and thunder as well.
