LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC OF E and SE WINDS, STRENGTHENING TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 65 KNOTS. SEA TOWARD THE OPEN DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 5. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE OPEN SEA.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure has intensified a little over the Adriatic from the northwest, while a low is generating over the Tyrrhenian Sea and it is expected to deepen.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

E, toward the open sea SE, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE and E winds 6-16, in places up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots. Winds will gradually strengthen toward the end of the day to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Gradual cloud increase is expected, bringing rain locally in the open sea, in the second part of the day a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.

Moderate to strong E and SE, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE and E winds, further strengthening to strong and near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force. Sea increasing to moderate and rough. Overcast with rain and risk of isolated rain showers and thunder in the open sea and with a chance of light precipitation along the coast of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic.
