SYNOPSIS

A deep trough with frontal system is approaching from the northwest and it will be shifting across the Adriatic eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and S winds 14-28, in places up to 38 knots, gradually turning west of Istria around midday, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic till the evening, to W, then to NW, and along the coast of the northern part in the evening briefly to NE. Sea 3-4, toward the open to 4-5. Visibility 5-15 km. Mainly cloudy and warmer with rain, in places with heavier rain showers and thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to near gale force, in places briefly up to gale force W and NW, along the coast of the North Adriatic up to strong NE winds, easing in the extreme north in the second part of the night. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first still up to near gale force S winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the open up to rough, calming in the extreme north of the Adriatic before the morning. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated thundery rain showers.
