IN THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. TOWARD THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH ADRIATIC STILL A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic, while unstable and cold air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 8-18, in places up to 22, in the Velebit Channel up to 32, gradually easing toward midday and turning to NW 4-14, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 18 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open 3-4, toward the open of the North Adriatic in the first part of the day possibly 4-5. Visibility above 20 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or snow in the open sea and along the coast of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic, and in the open of the South Adriatic this morning still a risk of isolated thundery rain showers.

Light to moderate NW winds, gradually dying away and turning, firstly in the North Adriatic, to light, only in places up to moderate SW, along the coast SE and E winds. Sea smooth or slight. Variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain or snow in the open sea.
