LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE EVENING UP TO 60 KNOTS. SEA IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC POSSIBLY UP TO 5. A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the European land has weakened a little over the Adriatic, while unstable and very cold air is circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and N winds 15-25, in the Velebit Channel in the evening and during the night NE up to 30 knots. In the Central and South Adriatic winds will ease in the afternoon to 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4, in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic possibly up to 5. Visibility above 20 km. Variably cloudy and very cold with a chance of a little rain or snow toward the open sea.

In the North Adriatic moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. In the Central and South Adriatic NE and N winds mainly moderate, strengthening a little and turning in the open of the South Adriatic to SE. Sea slight and moderate. Variably cloudy, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic mainly cloudy with a chance of a little rain or snow, in the open of the South Adriatic with a chance of isolated rain showers and thunder.
