A CHANCE OF FOG PATCHES IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT AND ALONG THE COAST DURING THE FORENOON, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while a trough with cold front is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 4-10, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 6-14, locally toward the open sea up to 18 knots, easing briefly toward the end of the day. Sea 1-2, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist, in the open of the North Adriatic during the night possibly to less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

NW and along the coast NE winds, gradually strengthening to moderate to strong, firstly in the North, in the morning in the rest of the Adriatic as well. Sea smooth or slight. In the open of the North Adriatic a risk of fog. Partial cloud increase with a risk of light scattered rain, mainly toward midday.
