A CHANCE OF FOG PATCHES IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while a trough with cold front is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 4-10, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 4-14, and toward the open sea NW winds up to 18 knots, easing a little toward the end of the day. Sea 1-2, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist, in the open of the North Adriatic during the night and in the morning possibly to less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

NW winds will strengthen in the second part of the night to moderate and fresh, firstly in the North and Central Adriatic. In the Velebit Channel NE winds strengthening to moderate and strong. Sea smooth or slight. In the open of the North Adriatic a chance of fog. Mostly clear, but gradual cloud increase is expected in the second part of the night, bringing rain possibly in the North Adriatic.
