IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC A CHANCE OF FOG, MAINLY THIS MORNING AND DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while a weakened front is shifting partly across the inland of Croatia further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 4-14, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 18, and along the coast this morning NE winds 4-12, in the Velebit Channel at first up to 20 knots. Sea 1-2, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel at first 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places around 5 km due to mist, and in the open of the North Adriatic possibly less than 1 km due to fog, mainly this morning. Variably cloudy with sunny spells, in the open of the South Adriatic with a risk of a little rain. Clearing is expected in the North Adriatic toward the end of the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the North, from the middle of the night in the rest of the Adriatic as well, clearing. Mist in places and in the northern part of the Adriatic a risk of fog, mainly toward the open sea. Light to moderate, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic possibly up to fresh NW, and along the coast light, in the southern part up to moderate NE winds. Sea smooth, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to slight.
