SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while a weakened front is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 4-14, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 20 knots. Along the coast during the night NE winds 4-12, only in the Velebit Channel up to 20 knots. Sea 1-2, toward the open 2-3. Visibility 10-20, but in the open of the North Adriatic during the night possibly less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear. Cloud increase is expected during the night.

Light NE, only in the Velebit Channel up to fresh, and in the open sea light to moderate, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight. In the open of the North Adriatic during the night and in the morning, toward the Italian coast, a risk of fog in places. Variably cloudy.
