LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN PLACES UP TO 55 KNOTS, EASING IN THE AFTERNOON AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT. SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE MORNING. FOG PATCHES IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC, PARTICULARLY DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic. A weakened front is expected to approach from the north tomorrow.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in places up to 28, easing to 6-16 knots around midday, firstly in the North, toward the end of the day in the rest of the Adriatic as well, except in the extreme south, where it will still reach up to 24 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic possibly 4-5, but calming in the afternoon to 2-3, during the night to 1-2, most lately in the southern part. Visibility above 20 km, only in the open of the North Adriatic possibly less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear with some cloud in the North Adriatic and in the open sea. A little colder.

Light variable winds, in places along the coast still light NE, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still moderate to strong in the first part of the night. Sea smooth, in the South Adriatic slight, and in the open sea in the first part of the night up to moderate. Gradual cloud increase. In the open of the North Adriatic a risk of fog here and there.
