SYNOPSIS

A weakened cold front is shifting across the Adriatic, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and E winds 4-14, locally in the open SE winds as well up to 18, and in the Velebit Channel NE winds up to 20 knots. Along the coast during the night NE winds strengthening to 8-18, in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with a chance of light scattered rain, in the open sea with a little risk of brief isolated thundery rain showers.
