WARNING

IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC STILL GUSTS OF NE WINDS THIS MORNING, REACHING AROUND 35 KNOTS. A LITTLE CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high air pressure has intensified over the Adriatic, while a trough with cold front is shifting further southeastwards and a new one is expected to approach from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 4-14, in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme south of the Adriatic still up to 20 knots this morning, but gradually easing and dying away toward midday. SE winds 4-10 knots expected late in the day. Sea 2-3, calming in the afternoon to 1-2. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic possibly still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain or brief isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the extreme south.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light SE winds gradually strengthening to moderate, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh. Sea increasing to slight. A new cloud increase expected from the west, bringing rain in places later on.
