SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while a trough with frontal system is approaching from the western Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E winds 4-14, in places of the North and Central Adriatic up to 18, gradually easing to 4-12 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20, but in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist. Fine or fair. In the North Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light SE and E, gradually turning in the North Adriatic to light to moderate NW, along the coast to NE winds, in the Velebit Channel toward midday up to strong. Sea smooth, in the North Adriatic up to slight. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain in the North and Central Adriatic. In the North Adriatic also a chance of isolated thundery rain showers.
