SYNOPSIS

A shallow low is slowly shifting from the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Adriatic further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North, till the end of the day in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, NE winds 6-14, in the Velebit Channel up to 22 knots. Toward the open of the Central Adriatic NW winds 8-16, in the South Adriatic SE winds 8-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open, toward the Strait of Otranto, in the afternoon 3-4, gradually calming till the end of the day. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably or mainly cloudy with scattered rain, brief isolated rain showers and thunder. End of precipitation and partial clearing expected in the North Adriatic toward the end of the day.

In the North and along the coast of the Central Adriatic light to moderate NE winds, easing till noon. Elsewhere light to moderate NW, and in the South Adriatic at first still light SE winds. Sea smooth or slight. Clearing, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first still variably cloudy with scattered rain and brief isolated rain showers and thunder. Air temperatures a little lower.
