ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY DURING THE FORENOON AND AROUND MIDDAY IN THE NORTH, IN THE AFTERNOON IN THE CENTRAL, AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC BRIEFLY OF SE and SW WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening, while a trough with frontal system is approaching from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Mainly calm, then SE winds 5-15, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 20 knots. In the afternoon in the North, in the evening in the Central Adriatic, wind turning to NW and NE 10-20 knots. Sea 1-2, increasing to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Heavier cloud increase with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder in the North, in the afternoon and in the evening in the Central Adriatic as well.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

NW and NE winds mainly moderate, in the Velebit Channel NE up to strong, and in the open sea NW up to fresh. In the extreme south of the Adriatic at first up to strong SE winds. Sea slight, in the open of the South Adriatic up to moderate. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, but clearing is expected in the North Adriatic.
